Principal's Message - Dec. 16
Greetings, Elma Primary Families.
Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Parent-Teacher conferences last week. We enjoyed connecting with you! We appreciate the flexibility of our families and teachers for adjusting their schedules after the December 5th snow day to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to meet.
Santa’s Secret Shop was a huge success again this year! Students were so excited to shop for gifts for family members. Our 3rd graders did a wonderful job as shopping assistants for our UPK and K students. Thank you to our PTO and parent volunteers for the amazing work they did in transforming our gym into a festive department store last Wednesday.
An update on Holiday Festivities this week:
- Holly Hanging, originally scheduled for today, will be rescheduled to January 13th due to last week’s snow days. This will allow our high school students and volunteers time to decorate the school before welcoming our students. We are so appreciative of the high school adjusting to keep this tradition alive.
- Tuesday, December 17th – For our Holiday Sing Along Concerts, Kindergarten and 1st grade will perform at 9:15 AM, and 2nd and 3rd grade will perform at 1:30 PM. Due to the size of our 2nd and 3rd grade classes and our space limitations, we will only be able to accommodate 2 guests per student at the afternoon performance. For the morning performance, we ask families to avoid parking in our lots until 8:55 AM to allow us to complete morning drop off. Doors will open for the morning performance at 9:00 AM, and they will open at 1:10 PM for our afternoon performance.
- Friday, December 20th – We will host Polar Express Day with a couple of surprise visitors to Elma Primary. This will also be an early dismissal day, with student pick-ups being dismissed at 10:35 AM and buses departing at 11:00 AM.
This week is also a holiday-themed spirit week, beginning with Grinchy Green Monday today. Please see the flyer sent home last week for each day’s theme. Themes are also listed on the Elma Primary PTO Parent Facebook page.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. We look forward to seeing you this week!
