Principal's Message - Jan. 31st
Greetings, Elma Primary Families.
We have had an action-packed week here at Elma, culminating with a visit from the Buffalo Sabres organization to our 2nd and 3rd grade PE classes! Students learned some hockey fundamentals as part of the Sabres Students of the Game program. Also, we have good news regarding our visit from the Buffalo Bandits, which was originally scheduled to occur on our January 22nd snow day. The visit has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 2nd. Thank you, again, to Mrs. Sonricker and Ms. Lisitsky for bringing these experiences to our students.
A reminder that registration for Universal Pre-K and Kindergarten is now open! Please visit the Iroquois CSD homepage for information and to access links to begin the process.
As we prepare for Kindergarten Registration, we’d like to share some important information:
- If your child is an Iroquois UPK student, you do NOT need to re-register them for Kindergarten. Your child is already registered and will attend the primary building based on your residence.
- The only additional requirement is to submit an updated health form and immunization record to the nurse at the primary building your child will attend (Elma, Marilla, or Wales).
- You will receive communication from the primary building regarding any Kindergarten transition events.
- Kindergarten Screening for UPK students will take place in May during their school day, so parents do not need to schedule a separate screening appointment. Further details about the screening process will be sent home as the date approaches.
Our next PTO meeting will take place on Thursday, February 13th at 6:15 PM. Families can continue to look for updates regarding upcoming activities on the Elma Primary PTO Parent Facebook page. Tickets are now on sale for the PTO Meat Raffle Fundraiser on February 22nd. Please consider joining us for a fun night in support of our students.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support.
Have a great weekend!
